Computer Hardware and Networking

Computer hardware and networking is a demanding career field among the youth. The hardware and networking domain is the highest-paying and fastest-growing domain in the IT sector.

Network devices are routers, switches, modems, hubs, and data cards (dongles). Network interface cards (NICs) are the most common type of hardware on a network.

Hardware professionals deal with various hardware components such as chips, computer systems, motherboards, processors, RAM, circuit boards, modems, external hard disks, printers, and keyboards. So, they need to have knowledge of all these components of hardware to be successful in this field.

Difference Between Computer Hardware Vs Networking

A computer network is nothing but a number of computers connected together. These are multiple computers that have connections. In today's world, all computers can be accessed through this network and can be accessed as per the requirement of the user.

Hardware, in simple words, can be termed as the parts of a computer system. These can be devices that are used to build a network. Hardware includes graphics card, router, mouse, CPU, etc. The hardware of a computer mainly consists of the components that make the processing of data possible.

Computer networking refers to the combination of connected computing devices, such as laptops, servers, and smartphones, with various network devices, communication protocols, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices that interact with each other such as audio or visual systems., sensors, cameras, and thermostats.

What Is Computer Hardware?

The hardware of the computer stores and executes software instructions. The two categories of hardware are internal hardware and external hardware. A computer's internal hardware consists of components crucial to its operation.

External hardware includes devices attached to a computer that extend or enhance its functionality and provide additional features. The components of computer hardware include:

Internal Hardware

Internal hardware includes the devices located inside the computer. It includes hardware that processes data and communicates with secondary storage and display devices.

  • CPU
  • GPU
  • RAM and ROM
  • Motherboard

External Hardware

A computer's external hardware or peripheral components are items connected externally to the computer to control input or output.

  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • Monitor
